DUE DILIGENCE

The due diligence activity can assess the technical and financial sustainability of renewable energy projects.

In Italy, the demand for developed projects is quite strong, but a lot of the proposed investments are not sustainable from a technical and financial point of view. Galileo Energia team has gained an important experience in the assessment of renewable projects and it can assist investors in the evaluation of the proposed investment.

Galileo Energia suggested checklist is:

Site visit and detailed assessment of energy resources and technical/environmental/planning constraints;
For Wind Projects: Wind data analysis, including data quality assessment, data calibration, long term prediction and recommendation for potential wind measurement improvement where applicable;
Assessment of the technical and contractual documentation;
Assessment of the permits;
Review of the input data, such as: wind measures (wind energy), agricultural and industrial chain (bioenergy), solar resource data (solar energy), landfill site and MSW disposal data (landfill biogas);
Review of the business plan and financial indicators of the investment.

The due diligence report is the output of the activity; it is a detailed analysis of the technical and financial aspects, describing the pros and cons of the investment.
